The mission of The Book Bank Foundation is to promote and advocate literacy. We accomplish this by using motivational speaking, models of positive behavior, scholastic achievement, and resourceful thinkers to stimulate self-esteem, academic achievement, future goal setting, and stories of achievement in communities where illiteracy exists.
We are committed to the community and focused on the betterment of tomorrow's future, our children. Our vision is to decrease the number of illiterate by providing sound and innovative ways of promoting learning, social awareness and individual prosperity. This is possible with your help.
The Book Bank Foundation was established as a reminder that "To whom much is given, much is required". Books saved the Founder's life. When Glenn Toby was eight years old, he, his mother and older brother were evicted from their Brooklyn, New York apartment and made to live on the streets, on subways or find warmth on hotel hallway floors. Reading allowed him to travel to foreign and distant places; reading allowed him to travel beyond his reality.
As an entertainment manager, songwriter, composer and producer, Glenn Toby has been involved in numerous community service projects, including Camp Cool-J, Americorps and the Jerry Lewis Telethon. His life is The Book Bank Foundation, and his gift is your involvement. Help us save as many lives as we can, because the reality is each of us is a paycheck away or a day of stress away from homelessness.
